FŌTERA® Resin-Based Terrazzo

This unique 2,200-square-foot, full-color FŌTERA® resin-based terrazzo installation spans the entire entrance to the Great Hall at the History Colorado Center in Denver, Colorado. The floor is composed of 234 pre-cast FŌTERA® concrete terrazzo tiles. Each tile is fabricated with a dimensional tolerance of 7/1000 of an inch. Viewed from the upper levels of the building, the tiles resolve into a topographical map of Colorado.

Radio-frequency ID tags embedded in the floor enable interactive engagement between the artwork and its viewers. As people move across the surface, the tags reveal historical, cultural, and environmental facts about the state.
