This interactive urban environment is composed of three main components:

• A 34-foot clock fountain that represents future time 
• A 14-foot bronze armillary sphere that alludes to ancient time 
• FŌTERA® concrete sidewalk bands and text panels that reflect on the ephemeral nature of time

The custom clock fountain conveys time through Roman numerals and a system of vertical and concentric waterspouts that respond to the changing minutes and hours of the day. The celestial sphere features astrological symbols in relief on the outer surface of its central band; on the interior, Roman numerals reveal the time of day through shadows cast by the sun’s rays. Engraved text panels are interspersed throughout adjacent sidewalks, further unifying the space.
