MARYLAND 216 WALLS

MARYLAND 216 WALLS

Howard County, MD.

2004

The aesthetic treatments for these precast sound barriers emerged from a desire to reintroduce the natural environment being obscured by this three-mile sound abatement wall installation. The panels feature iconographic images of Maryland’s indigenous flora and fauna, including trees, birds, and landscapes. Designed as modular units, the panels can be reconfigured into countless unique combinations, creating miles of varied and visually engaging patterns.
