Lindsey Street Bridge at I-35

Bridges & Highways

Norman, Oklahoma
2012

Creative Design Resolutions (CDR), a design firm owned and operated by Steven Weitzman, was contracted to create an Aesthetic Master Plan for the I-35 Corridor Widening Project for the City of Norman, of which this bridge is a part. The master plan consists of conceptual designs for eight bridges intended to be either newly built or reconstructed. Each design reveals an aspect of the City of Norman’s culture and aesthetics.

The designs for the Lindsey Street Bridge, expected to begin construction in 2014, were inspired by the University of Oklahoma’s Cherokee Gothic architecture and brick work. This bridge will be an access point from the highway to the University on Lindsey Street.
