JUSTICE PREVAILS
PG County Courthouse, Prince George’s County, MD.

FŌTERA® Concrete Terrazzo
2009
Created from FŌTERA® concrete terrazzo, this mural depicts a triumphant figure of Justice holding her scales high in front of the Prince George’s County Courthouse, which was nearly destroyed by a historic fire. Though her eyes are covered with a cloth, her right hand cups her ear—showing that even though Justice is blind, she listens.
The gnarled frame surrounding the mural is made from copper pieces salvaged from the original courthouse roof. Despite fire damage and other adversity, Justice prevails in the end.
