A FŌTERA® concrete terrazzo mural illustrating the life of Robert H. Goddard caps the 71-foot-long bench that lines the courtyard. At the far end of the space, a larger-than-life bronze statue of Goddard peers through a spotting telescope toward the original rocket tower. It is set within a cast-stone enclosure bearing a quotation about space. The door of the adjacent launch control shed serves as a metaphorical portal, inviting the community to access Goddard’s vision and ambitions for space exploration.
