Process - Cast-stone

The Egyptians combined mud, straw and stone to build their ancient tombs. The Romans combined sand, stone and animal products to build their large public works projects. In the twenty-first century, Weitzman Studios, Inc. uses old world processes incorporated with modern technology to replicate stone surfaces that look identical to natural rock monoliths. Weitzman Studios creates an original pattern, makes a mold, and casts the piece in the appropriate faux stone material. Large-scale projects that would be too costly to create can now be produced cost-efficiently and durably using this cast-stone process.
